Reiki for everyday stress

Stress is generally thought to be the reaction of the body to the demands of daily life. If you cannot cope with these, you may react with physical, emotional, and mental stress symptoms. If you suffer stress over a prolonged period, the body loses vitality and resilience. You become susceptible to illnesses; you worry, become fearful, depressed or angry, exhausted, and irritable; you become confused, and are unable to think clearly, or make the right decisions. Spiritually, you may feel empty, find no enjoyment in life, and feel bored.

Suppressing Emotion

Most people suppress their negative feelings. They would prefer not to know about them. When you repress these dark emotions, you use up life force energy. Since you do not want to feel, you also cut yourself off from positive emotions. By using Reiki regularly, you can develop well-being and harmony on all levels. Your body is vital and healthy and you feel emotionally and mentally balanced. You learn to take over responsibility for your health and well-being.

The saying “laughter is the best medicine” has more than a grain of truth. Laughing stimulates the thymus gland, strengthening the immune system. If you laugh often, you see things from a more positive viewpoint and do not take yourself so seriously. You no longer identify with your problems so strongly. Laughter rocks the heart, letting it release negative energies. It also vitalizes the body, simply because you breathe more deeply when you are laughing. It massages the heart and is the best medicine there is. Laughter is infectious.

Laughter Meditation

You can do this with your eyes open or closed.

  1. When you wake up in the morning, stretch and arch your whole body like a cat, even before you open your eyes, use the first symbol in front of your body;
  2. After a couple of minutes, start to laugh. Simply lift the corners of your mouth and laugh, even if you do not feel like it. Soon the forced laughter will stimulate the real thing and your laughter will become quite spontaneous. This will change your mood for the day.

 

Reiki for Emotional Problems

When you experience negative emotions within yourself or with others, try to lay your hands directly on the place where you or the receiver feels the emotion. The head positions calm your thoughts and your moods. They bring you into contact with positive qualities such as trust, security, intuition, and peace.
